Dear Friend: Andrew
Murray writes, “Beware in your prayer, above everything, of
limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you
know what He can do.” The only thing God cannot do is fail.
In fact, the Word of God promises, “. . . my God shall
supply all your need according to his riches in glory by
Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, KJV).
Lately, I’ve been reading one of our Pure Gold Classics,
E.M. Bounds—The Classic Collection on Prayer. If you have
not read this comprehensive work, I recommend it highly to
you. This book is a call to prayer that gives specific
teaching that can be applied to our lives. E.M. Bounds
writes, “The indispensable requirement for all true praying
is a deeply seated desire that seeks after God himself, and
remains unsatisfied until the choicest gifts in Heaven have
been richly and abundantly granted.”
When Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, he asked them to
pray for him and his co-workers: “Finally, brethren, pray
for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and
be glorified” (2 Thessalonians 3:1, KJV). As co-laborers
with you in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, I now ask
you to pray for us, as we endeavor to hold forth the Word of
life through Christian literature. We know that God will
hear and answer your prayers. Thank you for standing with
us.
We ask, also, that you would let us know if you would
like us to pray for you and with you about your concerns or
the concerns of others. We meet for prayer each weekday
morning at 8:00 EDT. Thank you so much.
Now let’s take a brief look at some of our new books and
upcoming autumn releases.
E.M. Bounds Speaks to the Modern
Church About Repentance and Righteousness
A good friend of ours, Darrel D. King, who is an E.M.
Bounds scholar, has written a very compelling work that we
will be releasing soon—early in October. The book is
entitled
E.M. Bounds Speaks to the Modern Church. (ISBN:
978-0-88270-933-8; Trade paperback; 170 pages; $12.99.)
In this book you will hear echoes of E.M. Bounds’
exhortations to the nineteenth-century Church, and you will
be amazed to see that many of the things he addressed back
then continue to be issues in our own time. The teachings
warn the modern Church about things related to spiritual
leadership, financial responsibility, worldliness, pride,
preaching, and emotionalism in worship. Bounds calls the
Church to repentance and a return to the righteousness of
God and the power of the Holy Spirit.
This book will bring renewal to individuals and the Body
of Christ.
Doug Giles Speaks to the Modern
Church About the Need to Be Strong in Times of Trial
Doug Giles also speaks to the modern Church in his
extraordinary work entitled
If You’re Going Through Hell, Keep Going, which
arrived in our warehouse Thursday. You may have heard of
Doug Giles via ClashRadio.com. Doug is the winner of seven
Silver Microphone Awards and two Communicator Awards. He is
a very popular columnist, minister, campus lecturer, and
award-winning writer.
If You’re Going Through Hell, Keep Going is not a
syrupy-sweet Christian book. The truth is that Doug uses
vernacular language to lead Christians to toughen up when
they are going through trials of any kind. He puts it this
way: “This book is rated NSFWC—Not Safe for Wussy
Christians. . . . Get ready to learn, laugh, become offended
(possibly), and thoroughly equipped to milk the bad in life
for all of its good.” (ISBN: 978-0-88270-973-4; Hardcover;
165 pages; $16.99)
Dr. David Pitcher Speaks to the
Modern Church About Getting Ready for the Rapture
J. David Pitcher, Jr., MD, is an awesome man who loves
the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. He has written
After the Rapture, which is an extraordinary book that
speaks directly to the times in which we live—the end times.
Dr. Pitcher challenges us to think about what will happen to
our possessions and assets after the Rapture takes place—in
the very near future.
He outlines twelve practical steps to take in order to
leave our assets to the Jews. Why should we do this? In this
way we will be “passing the torch” to the Jews, for the
Rapture will help them to understand that Jesus is the
Messiah, who rose from the dead. When this happens, they
will carry the message of salvation to all the people left
on Earth during the Great Tribulation.
This book is guaranteed to get you thinking and to take
positive action in behalf of Jesus Christ. Written by an
orthopaedic oncologic surgeon, who is an Associate Professor
at the University of Miami, this book is based on sound
biblical exegesis. (ISBN: 978-0-88270-916-1; trade
paperback; 400 pages; $14.99)
Skip Heitzig Speaks to the
Modern Church About Relationships and Walking With Jesus
We’ve just released two new books by Pastor Skip Heitzig.
They are
Beyond the Summer of Love—Relationships in the Real World,
and
Encounter: Face 2 face With Jesus. Both of these
books contain vital teaching for today’s believer. Skip
Heitzig is the Founder and Senior Pastor of one of America’s
twenty largest churches—Calvary of Albuquerque.
Beyond the Summer of Love is for those who want to
get married, those who are married, those who are going
through a divorce, and those who want to know what God has
to say about relationships. This is one of the strongest
books ever written about relationships in general and
marriage in particular. (ISBN: 978-0-88270-928-4; 6X9; 216
pages; $14.99)
Encounter: Face 2 Face With Jesus is all about the
person, power, and glory of Jesus and what happens when an
individual has a personal encounter with Him. In this book
Skip Heitzig shows the reader how to develop a close,
personal, relationship with the Master by looking at what
happened to seventeen people who met Him in the New
Testament. (ISBN: 978-0-88270-978-9; trade paperback; 230
pages; $14.99)
Dr. Sandra Clifton Speaks to the
Modern Church (and to the World) About New Age Lies
Dr. Sandra Clifton has experience as a former New Age
teacher. She is now a popular guest speaker at women’s
retreats and conferences. She and her husband, Terry, have
been married for thirty years and they have joined together
in a prophetic healing ministry.
Her new book,
New Age Lies Exposed, is a wake-up call to keep
us alert regarding the false teachings of the New Age
Movement. In this very helpful and informative book we learn
how to walk free from all deception, and to help others find
freedom, as well. Sandra invites us to be empowered by
finding new strength and power in God. This revealing book
is a call for us all to walk in the true light of Jesus
Christ. (ISBN: 978-0-88270-939-0; trade paperback; 140
pages; $13.99)
Linda Born Speaks to the Modern
Church About Alzheimer’s Disease

caring for her mother, who has had dementia of the
Alzheimer’s type since 2004. This book provides a thorough
treatment of a very difficult subject through practical
caregiving helps, 100 inspirational readings, and solid,
scriptural help for caregivers.
Linda Born is a teacher, as you will see from the way she
has developed and organized this book. She currently works
in Reading Recovery, a program for children who have reading
challenges. She holds two degrees from Emporia State
University in Emporia, Kansas. She resides in Kansas with
her husband, son, and mother. (ISBN: 978-0-88270-926-0;

Stacy Hord Speaks to the Modern
Church About Dating
Readers of
A New Vision for Dating by Stacy Hord
will discover how to seek God’s best for their dating lives,
find God’s new vision for their lives, discern God’s will,
and receive God’s restoration. The author draws on her own
experience to show how God can take someone past the hurt
and depression of their lives and give them hope and a
renewed future. Though everyone would benefit from reading
this book, its primary audience is “single-again” adults.
Stacy Hord was crowned Mrs. Missouri in 1997. She went on
to host a popular morning talk-radio show, “Rod and Stacy in
the Mornings.” A single mother of three sons, Stacy attends
James River Assembly, a mega-church with more than 12,000
members. She has served in the Divorce Recovery Program as
well as several other ministries. As you will see in this
book, Stacy is very passionate about helping others overcome
the stigmas and sense of hopelessness that are frequently
the experience of “single-again” adults. (ISBN:
978-0-88270-9253; trade paperback; 200 pages; $14.99)
Journal of the Unknown Prophet
by Wendy Alec
We are pleased to be able to announce that Bridge-Logos
is now distributing Wendy Alec’s classic work, Journal of
the Unknown Prophet. A few years ago I obtained a copy of
this book from New Wine Ministries in the United Kingdom
while attending the Christian Booksellers Convention in
Telford, England. I was literally drawn to this book and it
continued to be fascinated by it for months afterward, as I
used it in my private devotions.
During a ten-day period in 1999, Wendy Alec received a
visitation from the Lord Jesus Christ. He told her about
many things, including mercy, judgment, and the last days.
Wendy recorded the words He spoke to her in this very
readable, enlightening, and edifying book. (ISBN:
978-0-9552377-1-3; trade paperback; 304 pages; $18.00)
Men-No-Paws!
Another new title we’ve just released is Men-No-Paws
by Ellie Hein. (Illustrated by Sue Maas.) This is a very
real and humorous book for women and men on how to survive
menopause. The authors says this book is “to help you
through the rollercoaster ride of the No Paws Syndrome!”
This is an easy-to-read, but very helpful book that will
give you a laugh, provide you with a few hints to help you
through this stage of life, and give you coaching that will
enable you to become a winner. (ISBN: 978-0-88270-914-7; 8X8
paperback; four-color illustrations, 134 pages; $13.99)
