Fire in the CoreDear SouthTown:

I just wanted to tell you again that the new devotional is wonderful. I read the whole thing in two days. God is using your honesty (oops, I think the postmodern word is "authenticity") and vulnerability to reach those who read it. The book is an encouragement to me; sometimes after working all day with teenagers and young adults who are so messed up, I need to be reminded that God has, and is, working in young people's lives. At the Crisis Pregnancy Center, we have such a limited amount of time with clients. God gives us the privilege of planting seeds, but only occasionally do we get to see the fruit. Through you all, God has allowed Russell and I to see through a longer lens and God nurturing the seeds that others have planted in your lives. For this reason, "We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth" Colossians 1:3-6
